It's hard to talk about pregnancy without talking about a woman's right to give birth to pollution-free babies.
In 2004, EWG tested umbilical cord blood of 10 babies born in U.S. hospitals and found a total of 287 chemicals, an average of 200 chemical per child! All this at the time of the infant's most critical period of development of the baby, when it needs a chemical-free and nutrient-rich environment, not an industrial site! That those chemicals are present in its mother's womb is wrong on so many levels!

BPA Levels in Adults Up 70 Percent After Drinking From Plastic Bottles
Seventy-seven Harvard student volunteers experienced a nearly 70 percent increase in urinary levels of bisphenol A (BPA), a plastics component and synthetic estrogen linked to cancer, reproductive system damage and other serious conditions, after drinking cold beverages from BPA-laden polycarbonate bottles for just one week, according to researchers from Harvard University and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Environmental pollution up risk of liver disease: study
Environmental pollution may be contributing to the growing problem of liver disease in U.S. adults, according to a new U.S. study.
Matthew Cave of the University of Louisville and colleagues studied the role of environmental pollutants in liver disease in 4,500 people who take part in the so-called 2003-2004 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey.
